Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has been named the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month for October.
The 28-year-old, currently the Premier League’s top scorer with 12 goals.
Vardy scored five goals in the month of October keeping his scoring streak that now stands at nine consecutive games.
Vardy beat Watford striker Odion Ighalo, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, Arsenal duo of Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud and Stoke’s Jack Butland to the award.
He will be aiming to match Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of 10 consecutive goals when Leicester City travel to Newcastle in matchday 13.
