Capital One Cup: Result and Semi-final fixtures

Liverpool qualified for the last four in the Capital One cup with a 6-1 demolition of Southampton, courtesy of Daniel Sturridge’s brace, Divock Origi’s hat-trick, with Jordan Ibe’s goal completing the rout.

 

Merseyside rivals, Everton and Liverpool, were kept aside in the Capital One Cup semi-final.

 

Everton will face Manchester City and Stoke City will take on Liverpool in the final four of the Capital One Cup.

 

Everton, the only side left in the competition not to lift the trophy, will entertain 2014 winners Manchester City at Goodison Park.

 

Liverpool will make a record 16th Semi-final appearance. The Reds have won the competition a record eight times, first face a trip to the Britannia Stadium before welcoming Mark Hughes’ team to Anfield.

The Potters have not reached this stage since winning the competition in 1972.

The first legs will be played on January 5/6

The second leg will be on January 26/27.
