  • ​Arsenal have offered Mesut Ozil a £280,000-a-week contract to stay at the club, but fellow midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks increasingly likely to leave in the summer – with Manchester City and Manchester United interested.

  • Ozil, 28, has reportedly not responded to the latest contract offer from Arsenal of £200,000 a week.
  • Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has agreed a new contract, tying him to the Spanish champions until 2021. The 28-year-old Croatia international will sign the deal, which has a £109m (125m euros) buyout clause, on Friday.
  • Tottenham defender Ben Davies has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2021. The 23-year-old joined Spurs from  Swansea in 2014and has made 68 appearances in all competitions.
    • Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 35, thought to earn around £11m a year at Old Trafford, is wanted by several clubs in the USA, with LA Galaxy seeking to make the Swede the highest paid player in MLS history.
    • Manchester United and Real Madrid target Paulo Dybala, 23, is frustrated with ongoing contract talks at Juventus and the Argentine is said to be disgusted at boss Massimiliano Allegri’s recent decisions.
    • However, Allegri will bring Dybala with him to Arsenal if the Italian takes over from Arsene Wenger next season.
    • Monaco want £52m for 22-year-old midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is a reported target for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Rangers officials are thought to have spoken with the players at the training ground on Wednesday about the ongoing search for a new boss and a director of football.

      • The second-most popular player was his United team-mate Paul Pogba – presumably after another ordinary display – while Wayne Rooney came in at No 3. Harry Kane, who put in a brilliant two-goal performance for Spurs on Sunday was fourth – with Jamie Vardy of Leicester, fifth.

        • Bournemouth have been fined £35,000 after admitting a breach of Football Association anti-doping rules.
        • Paris St-Germain say a police investigation is under way after fans angrily confronted players at Bourget Airport following their Champions League elimination to Barcelona.
