Granada 0 – 4 Real Madrid
- Barcelona 4 – 1 Villarreal
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar surpassed 100 goals in all competitions for the season as Barcelona beat Villarreal 4-1 on Saturday to keep pace in the title race in La Liga.
Neymar, who excelled in his incursions from the left flank throughout, opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he poked in a shot by Messi that hit a defender and fell to him in front of goalkeeper Andres Fernandez.
But the visitors hit back at the Camp Nou when Cedric Bakambu raced clear and finished with aplomb.
Barca retook the lead through Messi’s deflected shot from distance, making it a ton of goals for the world-class trio while also putting the Argentine onto 50 goals in all competitions for the fifth time in his career.
Luis Suarez then made it 3-1 with a powerful effort under Fernandez in the 69th minute after Sergi Roberto set him up in the area. The result was sealed with Messi’s cool Panenka from the penalty spot after a handball by Jaume Costa.
- Granada 0 – 4 Real Madrid
Real Madrid moved level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga after thrashing Tony Adams’ Granada side.
James Rodriguez scored from Lucas Vazquez’s pull-back, before Rodriguez headed in a second shortly afterwards.
Alvaro Morata blasted in a third and then shot into the top corner for a fourth to seal the easy victory.
Barca, who have two La Liga matches left, are top by virtue of their head-to-head record in matches against Real, but Zinedine Zidane’s side have one game in hand as they aim for their first league title in five seasons.
Former England captain Adams was the surprise appointment to take charge of Granada in April, but he has now lost all five of his matches in charge, with the team only scoring one goal in that time.
They were in the bottom three when Adams became the manager, and the club’s relegation was confirmed last weekend.
- Atletico Madrid 1 – 0 Eibar
Saul Niguez’s strike ensured Atletico Madrid beat Eibar 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon to confirm a top-four place and Champions League group stage qualification.
Niguez struck 20 minutes from time when he latched onto a ball from Diego Godin and drilled home a left-footed shot from the edge of the box.
Godin was then sent off in stoppage time after picking up two yellow cards in the space of two minutes.
Atletico remained in third place, five points ahead of Sevilla in fourth and 11 ahead of Villarreal in fifth. The top three spots in earn automatic berths to next season’s Champions League group phase while the fourth-placed finisher must go through the playoff round.
- Sporting Gijon 1 – 0 Las Palmas

Carlos Carmona gave them a first victory in eight that moved them within three points of 17th-placed Leganes.
