Manchester United agree £75m fee with Everton for Romelu Lukaku and end interest in Alvaro Morata

Manchester United have agreed a £75m fee with Everton to sign Romelu Lukaku.
However, Senior Everton sources insist no deal has been reached or fee agreed for the sale of striker Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

United remain confident one is close and will be finalised.
All summer former club Chelsea appeared to be the front-runners for Lukaku’s signature but it is understood United have been quietly pursuing him old for months and he is said to have been the club’s main target, with interest from Stamford Bridge helping cover that up.

It is understood United have ended their interest in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as they progress a move for Lukaku, with the club hoping to get a deal over the line before heading to the United States on their pre-season tour.
Lukaku’s future at Goodison Park has been in doubt since he rejected a lucrative new contract  offer back in Marchand said during duty with the Belgium national team that he knew where his future would be.

Lukaku has also been a target for Chelsea this summer but United boss Jose Mourinho has also been keen to add a new high-profile striker to his squad after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to injury.
Lukaku, who scored 25 Premier League goals last season, is expected to have a medical later this week with the hope that he can join United for their tour of the United States.
The team return to training on Saturday before flying off to Los Angeles on Sunday.
