Dani Alves is near completion of a move to Paris Saint-Germain after weeks of reports that the defender was set to join Manchester City.
The Brazilian was released from the final year of his contract with Juventus last month with a view to being reunited with Pep Guardiola at City, but instead is set to sign a two-year contract at PSG, according to multiple reports.
The 34-year-old was pictured having a medical in Paris on Tuesday, and L’Equipe reported he should be introduced this week before PSG leave for its U.S. tour.
Amid his departure from Juventus, the right-back went so far as to say: “Everyone knows about my admiration for Pep Guardiola,” and City were eager to sign him, but the mutual attraction appears to have come to naught.
City are still without a senior recognised right-back after releasing Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy at the end of the their contracts.
