“There’s a good atmosphere here.”
It is understood that West Brom wanted to include an option to buy in the loan deal but

PSG would not agree to it.

No fee has been announced for his move to Metz but the French club announced he had agreed a contract until 2020.

“We feel it is beneficial to give Jordy the chance to play regular first-team football over the coming months. This move to a strong Club Brugge side will allow him to do that at a high level.”

Liverpool will pay an initial fee of £35m for Oxlade-Chamberlain which could rise to £40m depending on add-ons.

Marseille sign former Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour on a season long loan from Valencia

Olympique de Marseille have announced the signature of Tunisian defender Aymen Abdennour on a season-long loan from La Liga side Valencia CF.

The former Toulouse and Monaco man passed his medical on Tuesday and, despite having been on the verge of a move to Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg, signed on the dotted line for a return to France.

Despite having ten defenders in their current squad, Marseille only have three other stoppers and the Tunisian’s experience and technical quality made him the ideal candidate to shore things up at the back as coach Rudi Garcia looks to whip his team into the kind of shape that can avoid such humiliating scenes as Sunday night’s 6-1 loss in Monaco.

And, should Abdennour thrive and play more than 15 matches for Marseille, his loan deal’s option to buy would be activated and the move could be made permanent.

Abdennour left AS Monaco for Valencia in the summer of 2015 and has since played just 35 La Liga matches, prompting the 28-year-old to look elsewhere for more game time.

Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has turned down a move to Chelsea after the Premier League clubs agreed a £40m fee.

Gibbs made over 200 appearances for Arsenal, but despite his early potential struggled to retain a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s starting XI and he is expected to be the first of several departures from the Emirates before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

“I watched the boys in the first few games of the season and they’ve got a lot of energy,” Gibbs told West Brom’s official website. “They’ve made some good signings and I feel this is a good move for me.”

“Firstly, I would like to say how delighted I am to sign for West Brom.
“It has been an amazing journey to play for my childhood club since I was 14. I would like to thank Arsene Wenger for giving me the chance to start my career and fulfil a dream!
“Thank you to all the fans, the Arsenal staff and especially my team-mates who have been there during these special moments and have helped me through some tough times.
“Now it is time for the next chapter with West Bromwich Albion and I can’t wait to get started with the boys.
“(Tony Pulis is) different to what I’ve had before and I feel he can develop me in certain areas I maybe need to work on. He can help me progress.”

“Kieran’s a good age and has made over 200 appearances for Arsenal, represented his country and has Premier League and Champions League experience.
“To add these qualities to our squad is exactly what we’re looking for.”

Albion chairman John Williams said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Kieran to the club. We have recruited another quality addition, an England player with bags of experience at Premier League and Champions League level. We are confident he will do well for us.”

Roma have announced the signing of Patrik Schick from Sampdoria on a five-year contract in a move that could be worth an overall €42 million.

Schick, 21, has also been linked with Juventus and Inter Milan this summer but will only join Roma on an initial loan.

In a statement on their official website, the Serie A side broke down the club-record deal for the Czech Republic international striker as “an immediate loan fee of €5 million and, upon the completion of certain sporting objectives, an obligation to make the transfer permanent for a further €9m.

“The terms of the permanent transfer also include various performance-related bonuses, worth up to a maximum of €8m, based on the achievement of certain sporting objectives on the part of both the club and the player.

“Additionally, Sampdoria are entitled to a final payment of €20m in February 2020. Should Schick be sold prior to 1 February 2020, the clubs have agreed that Sampdoria will be entitled to 50% of the eventual transfer fee or €20m — whichever sum is the greater.”

Schick, who arrived in the Italian capital on Monday evening ahead of the move, scored 11 Serie A goals for Samp last season.

“I am very satisfied to be here and very happy,” Schick told Roma’s website.

“For me Roma is the ideal team. “I am looking forward to training with the group and getting ready for the upcoming games.”

Roma sporting director Monchi added: “Patrik is one of the brightest prospects in international football.

“We are all very satisfied to agree this deal especially because, despite being chased by a number of clubs, he has chosen us.”

Schick flew in to Turin on June 22 from Czech Republic’s under-21 camp while they were participating at the European Under-21 Championship to undergo a Juve medical, with whom he had already reached an agreement.

That move collapsed weeks later when Juve sought a reduction on the €30m they had agreed to pay Sampdoria after a cardiac issue was discovered during tests.

He returned to Sampdoria where further tests were performed and, several weeks later, he was given the all-clear by their doctors to resume training, although he still had his eye on a move.

Inter were reported to be leading the chase, but Francesco Totti, in his new role as Roma director, sent the 21-year-old a message, convincing him to join them.

He moved to the OTP Bank Liga in 2015 and made 42 appearances for Ujpest.

Kylian is the third Hazard brother to join Chelsea after Thorgan – the middle of the three – spent 2012 to 2015 at Stamford Bridge, although for virtually all of that time he was loaned out.

Patrick Roberts rejoins Celtic on a season-long loan from Manchester City

Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts has rejoined Celtic on a season-long loan, having already spent 18 months with the Scottish club.

The 20-year-old scored 17 goals in 60 appearances in his year and a half at Celtic Park, having made just one Premier League appearance for his parent club since signing for £12m in 2015.

Roberts first joined Celtic in January 2016 and quickly broke into the starting XI, before establishing himself as a key member of Brendan Rodgers’ ‘invincibles’ team last season.

“The manager has been brilliant with me,” Roberts, who will wear the No 7, told Celtic TV after re-signing for the club.

“He obviously wanted me back and so did Celtic. I had a decision to make after pre-season and when that came around Brendan Rodgers was obviously a huge factor in that. He is a top manager. I worked under him all of last year and I believe I can develop under him even more and become a better player.”

Roberts, who featured in Pep Guardiola’s City squads during their pre-season tours abroad, will be eligible to play in the Champions League for Celtic, where he could play against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich – who were drawn in the Hoops’ group last week.

“I watched it [the draw] in Manchester with all the lads there, but I had an eye on Celtic to see who they got,” Roberts added.

“It’s a hard draw but it’s good, and it’s where I strive to play in, while we know what this club can bring to the Champions League. I haven’t seen the Celtic lads yet but I’m sure they will all be looking forward to it and will be raring to go when it gets underway.

A Newcastle statement said:

“Siem de Jong has completed a permanent transfer to Dutch side Ajax. The 28-year-old returns to the Amsterdam Arena, where he made over 200 appearances before signing for the Magpies in the summer of 2014.”

In all, Holland international De Jong made just 26 appearances and scored two goals for the Magpies, and was sent out on loan to PSV Eindhoven last season.

He enjoyed little luck during his time in England, missing lengthy periods through injuries which included a collapsed lung, a ruptured thigh muscle and an eye problem suffered when he was caught accidentally by a team-mate in training.

De Jong joins striker Emmanuel Riviere in leaving the club as Benitez attempts to remove players from his squad who are surplus to requirements with Tim Krul, Achraf Lazaar, Grant Hanley and Jack Colback among those who have been told they can leave.

Borussia Dortmund replaces Ousmane Dembele with CSKA Moscow star Andriy Yarmolenko

Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of forward Andriy Yarmolenko after Ousmane Dembele’s move to Barcelona.

Yarmolenko, 27, will wear the No 9 shirt at the Bundesliga club after switching from Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev to pen a four-year deal at the Westfalenstadion until June 2021.

The move comes on the same day Dembele completed his £97m move to La Liga giants Barcelona.

“I am very grateful that Dynamo Kiev have fulfilled my dream of being able to switch to a big European club. I will work hard in every training to help Borussia Dortmund achieve their highest goals – that’s what I always do,” Yarmolenko said.

Barcelona’s pursuit of a replacement for Neymar had led them to Dembele, despite Dortmund initially insisting the France international would not be leaving.

Dortmund suspended Dembele indefinitely on August 10 when the 20-year-old boycotted training in protest after the German club rejected an opening bid from Barca.

Ultimately Dembele completed his move to the Nou Camp on Monday, and while Yarmolenko would appear a direct replacement for the forward, Dortmund indicated this was a transfer they have planned for some time.

“Andriy is a player we have been pursuing for a long time and who is on top level both at club level and in the service of the Ukrainian national team for football,” said Dortmund’s sports director, Michael Zorc.

Chelsea agree fee with Arsenal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Chelsea have agreed a fee with Arsenal for England international winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for an undisclosed fee believed to be £30million.

The former Southampton man, who is out of contract next summer – along with Arsenal team-mates Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, has been linked with moves to both the Blues and Liverpool this summer.

However, it is Chelsea who are believed to have won the race to sign him, having agreed a deal with Arsenal, according toSky Sports News.

The 24-year old is with the England squad at St George’s Park and it is understood large parts of a medical could be carried out at England’s training base in the Midlands.

The sale of Oxlade-Chamberlain will mark a rapid U-turn by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has consistently said he wants the player to stay at the Emirates in the long-term.

But the former Saints player rejected the Gunners’ latest offer of a new deal last week, which would have seen his weekly wage rise to £180,000, forcing Arsenal into a rethink.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is understood to have met with Wenger before their weekend trip to Liverpool to talk over his future, and while he was named in the starting line-up for the 4-0 defeat at Anfield, it is thought it was agreed he would be allowed to leave.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had also been mooted as a target for Liverpool but appears set to stay in London with the reigning Premier League champions.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been desperate to further bolster his side before the window slams shut on Thursday night and said after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Everton:

“There are four days to go in the transfer market. I think the club is working very hard to try and improve our squad. “Don’t forget when we start next month we have to play seven games and I need to rotate my players.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal from Southampton in a £12million deal in 2011.

He made just 68 Premier League starts for Arsenal in his six years at the club, coming on off the bench 64 times.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had played in all four of Arsenal’s games this term but refused to pen a new deal. His move could end Chelsea’s interest in Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Liverpool sign Naby Keita from Leipzig for next season

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a club record deal of £48m for Naby Keita with the midfielder set to move to Anfield on July 1, 2018.

The Guinea midfielder passed a medical in Wilmslow on Monday morning and has signed a five-year deal effective from July 1, 2018.

The fee will also surpass the £39.5m paid to Roma for Mohamed Salah this summer.

Liverpool previously ended their pursuit of the 22-year-old in July having had two bids rejected by the Bundesliga club.

Liverpool have made a £55.5m bid to Monaco for Thomas Lemar. It is believed Monaco have yet to accept or reject the offer as they assess options in their squad.

Barcelona unveil their club-record and world’s second most expensive signing OUSMANE DEMBELE from Borussia Dortmund

Ousmane Dembele has become the most expensive player in Barcelona’s history after signing a five-year deal with the Catalan club on Monday.

The clubs announced agreement had been reached on a £97m deal on Sunday and Dembele completed his medical on Monday afternoon in the Catalan city.

There was a brief delay, with almost 20,000 fans waiting around for a couple of extra hours, before the 20-year-old appeared alongside Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu to put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract.

“I’m really pleased to form part of the Barca family,” Dembele said after signing a deal that could eventually earn the Bundesliga side nearly £135m.

“I have always wanted to play for Barca since I was a kid. I watched all their matches.

“I’m really happy to now be part of the best club in the world with the best players in the world.

“I hope to win lots of trophies and titles here. I’m hoping forward to a good year, a successful year and looking forward to playing here in this stadium.”

The forward’s transfer is the second highest of all time, just behind the £200m Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar earlier this summer.

Dembele joined Borussia Dortmund for £13m from French side Rennes last summer and went on to score 10 goals in 50 appearances in his debut season at the Westfalenstadion.

He could make his Barcelona debut after the international break with Ernesto Valverde’s men facing city rivals Espanyol in their next La Liga game on September 9.

Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho remains a target and Barca hope the Premier League side will accept a fourth bid for the midfielder having seen three offers turned down so far.

The ambitious Rossoneri led their Sardinian opponents in the 10th minute when teenager Patrick Cutrone grabbed his second goal in as many games, but Cagliari soon capitalised on a Franck Kessie mistake to level through Joao Pedro.

  • Torino 3 – 0 Sassuolo

Andrea Belotti kept himself in the shop window ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline by scoring an acrobatic opener in Torino’s 3-0 home victory over Sassuolo.

The Italy striker, who scored 26 league goals for Il Toro last term, is a reported target of Chelsea and Monaco but his 100 million euro (£92.3million) asking price is a sticking point for potential suitors.

He reminded any scouts in attendance at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday of his ability with a scissors kick that powered Lorenzo De Silvestri’s cross home for a 45th-minute opener and Torino wrapped up the three points with late goals from Adem Ljajic and Joel Obi.

  • SPAL 2013 3 – 2 Udinese

And Inter ahead 10 minutes later through Icardi’s close-range finish from Ivan Perisic’s pass.

The visitors added a third with Perisic the provider again as Matias Vecino tucked in from close range.

  • Benevento 0 – 1 Bologna

Benevento were heartbroken to see a last-gasp equaliser ruled offside using VAR, as Godfred Donsah’s solo effort gave Bologna victory.
