Former Spain international midfielder Xabi Alonso plans to become a manager.
The ex-Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich man who won two UEFA Champions League trophies and the 2010 World Cup retired as a player in May.
“After 17 years in the game, I have considered the next step in my career,” he said in a brief video. “I have decided to go into management. Find out soon. #HereToCreate.”
Alonso in March announced the 2016-17 season would be his last as a player, using his Twitter account to say: “Lived it. Loved it. Farewell beautiful game.”
